In a pioneering move, Lego is set to launch Braille bricks specially designed for visually impaired children, aiming to facilitate interactive learning and inclusion. Starting from September 1, the “Lego Braille Bricks — Play with Braille” set will be available in Italian, French, and English, followed by German and Spanish versions in early 2024. Priced at $89.99 USD (approximately Rs 7,436), the set comprises 287 pieces that seamlessly integrate with other Lego products.
The innovative Braille bricks feature raised studs arranged in Braille patterns, enabling visually impaired children to engage with the Braille system in a dynamic manner. Printed letters beneath the studs provide further assistance, aiding individuals in identifying the building’s baseplate, which also includes Braille. Moreover, the company plans to offer audio and Braille building instructions for other Lego sets, catering to people of diverse age groups.
